youth work

As the new year approaches, we feel proud to share exciting news. This month, the staff at Urban Circle Newport received the Quality Mark for Youth Work in Wales. We have
now achieved the bronze level quality standards set by the Education Workforce Council (EWC) with many hopes to begin the silver developments in 2024.

The Bronze level standards monitor:

  • Performance management
  • Quality of Youth Work Practice
  • Young people’s learning and development
  • Legal Requirements

It’s a pleasure to share our news with everyone- as it’s one achievement myself and the UC team hold close to our hearts as quality youth work is fundamental to our core practice!” – Loren Henry CEO

The team at Urban Circle want to thank our partners at the University of South Wales, Maindee Primary School and Community House, who supported us in this process and are fundamental in our wider mission of delivering accessible quality youth work to our communities.
As the year draws to a close, we take time to reflect on the year, in which we give gratitude to those who have played a part of our year and all the years that have passed- and look forward to having you on our journey moving forward into 2024… and beyond!

With love, peace, and solidarity.
