Mohamad Miah

Hi, I’m the Communications Manager at Urban Circle Newport, with over 15 years’ experience working in screen and lens-based media. I also work as a media consultant for public and third-sector agencies across Wales and England, supporting organisations to communicate with clarity, creativity, and cultural understanding.

A graduate of Newport’s century-long Documentary Photography programme, my work has always been shaped by reportage, visual storytelling, and a deep respect for the resilience within communities. I’m driven by how media, empathy, and creative practice can empower people and contribute to meaningful community development.

Urban Circle has been a consistent anchor point in my journey, a place where like-minded people come together to create impact, support young people, and tell important stories. It’s a privilege to contribute to that work and to help shape a communications culture that reflects our values and the communities we serve.
