Hedyn

Hedyn was formed on 1 April 2025 through the merger of Melin and Newport City Homes, bringing together their shared expertise to create something greater. The organisation’s vision is to build connected communities where everyone has the opportunity to live well.

Its mission is to ensure that every action has a positive impact on the lives of others, supporting residents to thrive and helping to secure a safer, brighter future for current and future generations.

The name Hedyn, meaning seed, reflects the organisation’s ambition: to start with strong roots, do the right thing, make things happen, and be a positive difference in the communities it serves.

As a social housing landlord, Hedyn supports residents and communities across more than 15,000 homes in south-east Wales, spanning:

Blaenau Gwent
Monmouthshire
Newport
Powys
